where the path meets the road
After the sunset we left to find food and take in the village and its lights. I love photographing in the night. The darkness and the light are very moody. The shadows makes mundane things appear interesting and mysterious. To capture that feeling and ambiance is the interesting challenge.
A few years ago, on my first trip to Matheran with Batata, I had roamed the streets in the night armed with a tripod and my Dynax 5 film camera.

on my acer monitor these photos looks splotchy and bad in the dark area. but they look pretty nice on the mac screen. q says it's a screen gamma calibration issue. so if you have similar issues reduce brightness and splotches reduce a lot.
Loved the photos. Many of these give out a haunting effect. Put together a few of these in a different context, and you could actually weave around a pretty spooky story around them!
Loved the cobblers photo. Such a different life from ours. He sits in his 8x8 world, an island of sorts, minding his own business by mending someones shoes...
