Watercolour painting: Fog

This is done on a cheap local pad. The sizing of the paper is good, but it is dull in colour. The paints are Sakura Koi. I used an unbranded mop. This painting was done following along Uffe Boesen on Youtube.

I have recently acquired some books by Ron Ranson. I love his free style. This study is from one of his demos available on youtube.

Call of the mountain

You ask me why I dwell in the green mountain;

Though these Ladakh mountains in the painting are brown, the essence of the poem still stands. Li Bai touches a cord with his innocent words.

We walk across the lush green grass, eyes on the blue mountains.
The hills we must cross, to drench into the far away rains.
The clouds have come down and beckon us into their fold,
Onto the distant mountain stronghold...

Ride into the rain – Ride.
Across the windy plain – Ride.
Through winding lanes and slanting hills – Ride.
Ride into the fading rain... Ride!

Will it rain again?

The clouds gather over the distant hills. The grass is a vibrant green.

Made a card for the wife.  It is surprising how fast the last year has disappeared. It was a year full of new memories. The first year of the new phase of life. Thank you Jo for making it special.
